Nars touts this as a long-wear, high-coverage foundation which looks like your skin but better. It all sounded up my alley so into my bin it went. The SA I talked to said she loves it and recommends it for her brides when she does their makeup. I mean, could it describe anymore to a T what I wanted? I like Nars as a brand and it had decent reviews. Is that so much to ask?īecause I was tired of the Armani Silk Luminous everyone throws my way when I ask for this type of coverage (to be fair it is good but not HG and I would not call it high-coverage) I wandered around Sephora until I found something that said what I was looking for – Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation.
Basically, I wanted to look natural and flawless. My requirements were that it doesn’t break down due to my dehydrated yet oily skin, won’t settle into lines or pores, and has a skin-like radiance to it vs. On the hunt I went.īecause I knew I’d be out and about for a long time, I wanted a longer wear foundation. I wanted a new foundation because my go-tos were somewhat sheer and have SPF which can cause flash backs. However, when I have a glam party or something coming up I’ll do the whole get up from primer to setting spray. More because my skin is like a 3 year old toddler waiting to have a tantrum so when it’s sleeping (acting like an angel) I will do whatever I can to not wake the beast. If you are like me and want the coverage and longevity of a foundation, this one's for you without the foundation feel.On the day-to-day I am a minimal makeup kind of gal. Even on the most humid days in New York, this foundation lasts and has never sweat off throughout the day. But, unlike many tints I've tried, this one gives you the most flawless coverage I have ever encountered I can tell the difference immediately with the first swipe. Formulated with the consistency of a "tint," it is super lightweight and buildable. This foundation checks all the boxes for me. I was never obsessed with foundation until I purchased Ami Cole's Skin Enhancing Tint. I'm no stranger to lots and lots of sweat, so I like my foundation to feel light while still being long-lasting. When I choose a foundation, I think of two things: first, will this product blur and dull some of that shine without removing my skin's natural glow? And secondly, does it feel cakey? I'm originally from Arizona, which is extremely hot, and now living in NYC’s humidity. I have super oily skin, and because of that, I am perpetually shiny (and not the cute glowy kind of shiny). It's easy to apply-I usually use a beauty blender for this when I'm at home, but I've used my fingers to apply the product plenty of times while on vacation. It gives me a healthy glow, which is needed in the winter months when I lose my tan, but this product is my holy grail because it doesn't make my skin oily even in sweltering hot NYC summer. While I loved Mercier’s Illuminating line (it’s been discontinued), their tinted moisturizer is an excellent second-choice as I love that it has SPF 20 to further protect my skin from sun damage. My favorite foundation is Laura Mercier's Tinted I Moisturizer (I'm the shade "Warm Radiance").
What’s the long-wear foundation you swear by? I also want it to match my skin perfectly-I've noticed that some brands do not have the perfect shade for those with olive skin tones like myself. I'm a big fan of wearing a more natural look, so I want my foundation to be lightweight and ultimately enhance the radiance of my skin. My skin is very dry in the winter, and my forehead gets oily in the summer.
